* Features of the Design
- One of the important decisions about the design was to be able to hold a smartphone in any orientation. That includes not only vertical or horizontal, but also with the screen pointed towards the user or away from them.
- It also had to be easily adjustable, removable, and most importantly, extremely portable. Anything that took up more space in a pocket than a set of keys was too cumbersome.
- This led to a design that uses a number of hinges to allow the legs of the stand to work independently from the attachment to the phone itself, supported by a connecting, swiveled arm.
- The legs lay flat against the back, then twist out in a few short steps to a fully functional tripod. As the arm and legs twist into place, they tighten, allowing the clip to hold even bulky or heavy cell phones steadily. A spring-loaded grip holds a wide range of different sized smartphones securely.
